About him
By nature I am a gentleman; quietly confident, romantic, amusing, creative, kind and faithful. I am deeply attached to the English countryside and coast. Widowed for six years, I long to meet a lovely lady with whom I can find that special chemistry, and who shares my love of life in the country. Home is a rural cottage with a dog, masses of books and a seriously good garden. The latter because I am a professional Horticulturalist. Happy to get my hands dirty and 'stuck in' in life, I also scrub up quite well!
I enjoy eating outside, (open air) theatre, visiting art galleries and museums, and most of all, simply spending time together, talking and laughing, wherever we happen to be. As you can see, there is quite a lot of 'outside' in my life, except, that is, when it's pouring with rain!
I am interested in history, art, architecture, style and design. I haven't travelled much recently, but think maybe it's time I started again. My photographs are very recent. Friends describe my looks as 'distinctive', so perhaps I fall somewhere between average and attractive?

I am looking for a lovely lady who has a sense of goodness and kindness, is fun to be with, and who has a witty sense of humour. She would be comortable with nature and animals, be creative or artistic, happy to be spontanious from time to time and also happy to share some of the interests that I have.
